BJP to deploy digital raths' to woo voters
Each digital rath will also have a public announcement system and an LED screen.
New Delhi: For the upcoming civic poll campaign, the Delhi BJP will deploy about three dozen “digital raths”. The e-rickshaws designed as raths (chariot) will broadcast Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speeches and other campaign materials of the party in prominent localities, market, and places frequented by people.
The campaign vehicles will carry Mr Modi’s speeches on a variety of subjects and the key policies of the Union government, campaign music, publicity material and promotional or campaign films. Each digital rath will also have a public announcement system and an LED screen.
According to Delhi BJP spokesperson Harish Khurana, these digital raths will travel every nook and corner of the city to reach out to the maximum number of people with messages from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with BJP’s developmental
agenda.
“These special campaign vehicles will tell people about the development initiatives taken under Mr Modi’s government and how electing BJP in all the three civic bodies will accelerate development in the city,” said Mr Khurana.
The party has also made two documentaries — one highlighting the achievements of the BJP ruled civic bodies in the last 10 years and the other regarding the reality check promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of the last Delhi Assembly polls.
“Two short films, each of five-minute duration, will be screened in these campaign vehicles. The first film will talk about our good work in the civic bodies and the other will show the failures of Arvind Kejriwal government,” added Mr Khurana.
Local party leaders and workers have been asked to reach out to the maximum number of voters in each municipal ward. The digital rath will be supported and coordinated by other campaigns like rallies and public meetings to be addressed by other senior party leaders. The entire campaign is coordinated and monitored by the state BJP headquarters.
