AAP blames BJP, Centre; says move to silence' Opposition

New Delhi: The AAP on Wednesday blamed the BJP and the Central government for the charges hurled by sacked minister Kapil Mishra against CM Arvind Kejriwal, saying this was part of a larger conspiracy to “finish off” the party to “silen-ce” the Opposition. On the question of foreign trips taken by the AAP leaders raised by Mr Mishra, seni-or leader Sanjay Singh said that the Opposition has linked the purpose of these trips to promote treason.
“I will tell you the treason I have committed since 1994. I have committed a treason of blood donation, I have defected burning bonfire. I have committed the treason of distribution of quilts, blankets and to fight for the rights of homeless. I have committed the treason of taking part in the Anna movement against corruption,” he said.
“When a debate was ongoing on a news channel on anti-nationalism, my soul was crying. Raghur Thak-ur has been my political guru... Even though AAP is raising the voice of poor, it is still being attacked,” he said. Replying to Mr Mishra’s questions, he said that when an earthquake had hit Nepal, then the work done for the benefit of people with the AAP leaders would also be termed treason?
“When the tsunami struck India, I also worked for the people. Even though I was not a part of this party, I did a lot of work in the Gujarat earthquake,” he said.
“I have been accused of possessing bungalows worth Rs 5 crore, but I live in a rented house... The Central government can get this checked. If I am found guilty, I will quit politics. I worked for a gurdwara in Canada. The day we turn anti-nationals, we will prefer consuming poison,” he said.
Mr Mishra has alo questioned my Russia trip, where I went for a friend’s son’s wedding, the ticket for which was done by him. The US trip was also the party’s work.
Mr Mishra went on a hunger strike from Wednesday demanding the details of the forign trips taken by the AAP leaders.
