Two crushed to death in Civil Lines

The accused driver who had been identified as Jaswant, managed to flee the spot feared mob fury.

New Delhi: Two persons were crushed to death on Sunday after a truck loaded with crops allegedly lost control and toppled. Two persons sleeping on the footpath in North Delhi’s Civil Lines area came under the truck.

Police said that the incident took place on early Sunday after the truck carrying crops, coming from Bulandshehar in U.P toppled on the footpath. The truck was heading towards Narela Mandi.

Preliminary probe suggests the driver was overspeeding and had lost control over the wheels. The accused driver who had been identified as Jaswant, managed to flee the spot feared mob fury. The polkice traced him and took him into custody.
