Auto lifter gang busted in Delhi

Luxury SUVs, sedans and huge cache of arms recovered.

Subsequently, the police registered an FIR at the concerned police station and took up investigation into the matter, the official sources said.

New Delhi: Putting a brake on crime and especially to contain auto lifters, the team of South district, AATS team busted an intricate network of auto lifters that sold stolen cars after making forged documents. 

A police constable from Manipur along with three others arrested with the recovery of 16 vehicles including BMW car, Honda City, Fortuner cars and huge cache of arms with eight country-made pistol & 16 cartridges seized. Police said that the four active members of gang namely Asker Ahmad resident of Imphal, Manipur. Asker Ahmad is an MBA. After completing his education, he started running US Based call centre at Gurugram. Mohammad Fakruddin (31) is an important member of this network and previously, he was constable in Manipur Police and later dismissed from the services as he was found involved in cases of auto lifting, Sorokhaibam Chorijit Singh (25), master thief and Abdul Gaffar Khan, is an expert in forging NCRB reports and drafting duplicate registration certificates for transporting these vehicles from Delhi to Manipur.  According to senior police officer, the team deployed its sources in Delhi and outside and also profiled dossiers of known criminals having such modus operandi. 

The incessant efforts yield result and on March 27, when secret information was received that members of these gangs would come to approach road adjacent to drainage between Sector - 5 and Sector-6, Pushp Vihar, Saket will go towards Mehrauli Badarpur road to deliver the consignment of arms.
