Vijender Gupta attacks AAP on Budget Session

New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition, Vijender Gupta on Wednesday said that Budget Session of the Delhi assembly which ended a day before has not only become the one of the longest sessions in its history but it has also acquired the distinction wherein the chief minister, the  deputy chief minister, the ministers and the AAP MLAs exhibited the most undignified and an irresponsible behaviour of AAP MLAs.

According to Mr Gupta, the just concluded budget session has also acquired the distinction of becoming the most undemocratic session assailing the pillars of democracy

“The repressive government went out of the way to suppress freedom of press by sending the matter of one Hindi newspaper to the Privilege Committee for the so called “misreporting”. The reporters were unfairly called “dalals” (touts). 

On the other hand the government seemed to be running away from its responsibility of discussion on important public issues,” said Mr Gupta.

The leader of Opposition also charged that the despotic  Arvind Kejriwal government left no stone unturned in suppressing the voice of Opposition.  “Whenever BJP MLAs tried to raise public issues, they were forced out of the House with the help of marshals. When they resisted and pressed for discussion they were not heard. Hence they had no option but to walk out of the House eight times,” alleged Mr Gupta.

Mr Gupta also claimed that despite despotic behaviour of the ruling party, the Opposition succeeded in raising 225 issues of public importance.

 “The Government was compelled to rethink on issues,” said Mr Gupta. He further accused the incumbent government for not being able to ensure fair debate.
