New Delhi: Some schools in the city which are likely to be affected by police arran-gements due to the full dress rehearsal of Independence Day celebrations on Monday, will start at 10 am to avoid any inconvenience to the students, a communication said.
The Directorate of Education (DoE) issued the directive to schools following Delhi Traffic Police’s recommendation in this regard.
“The full dress rehearsal of the Independence Day celebrations will be held tomorrow. There-fore, in order to avoid inconvenience to students, the schools in the affected areas will be opened at 10 am on Monday instead of the regular timings,” the communication to schools by the DoE said.
“The schools which are likely to be affected by heavy police arrangements will be the ones adjacent to Ring Road from Inter-State Bus Terminal at Kashmere Gate to Rajghat, JLN Marg from Raj Ghat to Ranjit Singh flyover, Asaf Ali road, Church Mission road, SPM Marg, Pul Duffrin North, Zorav-ar Singh Marg and Yamu-na Bazar up to Hanuman Sethu,” it added.
Meanwhile, as a part of the security measures, parking facilities at the metro stations in the national capital will also not be available from Tuesday morning to till 2 pm on August 15, officials said on Sunday.

The DMRC has instructed all the parking contractors to use the opportunity for cleaning the parking lots thoroughly in the spirit of “Swachh Bharat”. Celebrations for the 72nd Independence day will be held at the Red Fort.
