New Delhi: A jilted lover allegedly strangulated a 21-year-old married woman to death in Northwest Delhi’s Bhalswa dairy area after she rejected his marriage proposal, said the police on Sunday.
The incident was reported to the police on Saturday at 2.30 pm. When the police reached the spot, it found that the woman was allegedly strangulated to death, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Aslam Khan.
The man, identified as Ravi (22), belongs to Aligarh in Western Uttar Pradesh and was arrested in connection with the case.
During interrogation, he confessed to killing her.
He said that he was in love with the woman but she did not reciprocate his love.
When she did not accept his proposal, he hatched a plan to kill her, the deputy commissioner of police said.
Ravi told the police that after the woman’s husband left for work, he went to her house and allegedly strangulated her.
