Asha Bhosle's wax statue to feature at city's Madame Tussauds
The wax figure, which will be built with the help of over 150 specific measurements and images, is the first for the Dadasaheb Phalke awardee.
New Delhi: Legendary singer Asha Bhosle, who has entertained people over generations with her music, is set to join other leading singers at the Madame Tussauds wax museum here.
The wax figure of the 83-year-old legendary singer will be displayed in the Bollywood music zone, along with that of other leading musicians in an interactive-themed environment. The wax figure, which will be built with the help of over 150 specific measurements and images, is the first for the Dadasaheb Phalke awardee. “I am thrilled and humbled. Thank you to Madame Tussauds and my fans for considering me for this incredible honour. Having a wax figure is a completely ecstatic feeling and it’s a new experience for me.
This is the first time I have undergone a sitting and I must thank them for making it a unique and exciting experience. I am excited to see and meet my final figure when the attraction opens. Madame Tussauds is a one-of-a-kind attraction and is a rage across the world, and I am looking forward to the launch and opening in Delhi,” she said.
She has sung for over a thousand Bollywood movies in various genres, in more than 20 Indian and foreign languages, which include other solo albums too. She has also secured her place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most recorded artist in history.
The zone that will showcase the singer’s figure will also enable fans to sing and perform with their favourite stars. The team of experts from Madame Tussauds met with Asha Bhosle last year for the sitting session in Mumbai where over 150 specific measurements and images were taken.
