Man hangs self, writes name of Kotla SHO on his room's wall
Accused officer Yadav was the investigating officer in the high-profile Sunanda Pushkar murder case.
New Delhi: A 20-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his room in Kotla Mubarakpur, said the police. The deceased had allegedly written the SHO’s name on the wall and named him the reason behind this extreme step.
The police received a call on Friday around 9.30 pm about the incident where they found Sudeep, a resident of Arjun Nagar, lying on the bed in his room. A piece of cloth was also found tied to the fan, said DCP (South) Vijay Kumar.
According to the deceased’s sister, her brother had written a note on the wall where he had alleged that SHO (Kotla Mubarakpur) V.K.P.S. Yadav had abetted him to take this step.
Mr Yadav was the investigating officer in the high-profile Sunanda Pushkar murder case.
There was a case of robbery registered against the deceased and the matter is currently in the court. On Friday, there was a hearing about his case in Saket court where his father had gone, said the police.
It is being alleged by the family members that Mr Yadav had falsely implicated the deceased in a case because of which he was in mental trauma and committed suicide, which is a clear case of abetment to suicide.
The police said that the matter is being investigated. Taking the case seriously, it has been handed over to the SHO (station house officer) of Greater Kailash instead of Kotla Mubarakpur.
In the past too, couple of people had alleged Mr Yadav of bribery and threatening them with dire consequences.
In 2011, a lady alleged that Mr Yadav was bribed by her in-laws. “Since then the SHO has been harassing me and my husband. He has threatened us with dire consequences and has said that he will implicate us in false case,” alleged the victim.
In 2010, a Delhi University student was brutally thrashed by local police and was wrongly accused of mobile theft. The accused even went into partial paralysis. In this case as well everything was done on Mr Yadav’s behest.
