New Delhi: A trip to Delhi turned costly for a Mumbai Income Tax joint commissioner after the senior officer learnt that his gold ring and bracelet were allegedly stolen from Maharashtra Sadan on January 11.

The senior officer approached the Tilak Marg police station and registered a theft complaint in this connection.

Vishwas S Mundhe, joint commissioner, Income Tax department, Mumbai, was staying at room number 129 of Maharashtra Sadan, KG Marg, from January 9 to 11. Last Wednesday, an employee of Maharashtra Sadan, entered his room to take his luggage. Since then, his gold ring and bracelet could not be found in his room.
