Police arrests 2 for robbing Flipkart parcels

New Delhi: The Delhi police crime branch has arrested two robbers who had robbed the Flipkarts parcels consignment on the way to Airport from its warehouse.
As many as 67 parcels of plastic bags containing mobile phones, clothes, shoes and other articles worth Rs 20 lakhs were recovered from their possession, said the police on Wednesday.
The police identified arrested accused as, Gaurav Kumar (22), resident of Rangpuri, New Delhi and Guddu Kumar (22), resident of Darbhanga, Bihar. The were arrested from Narela, Delhi.
According to the police, on February 8, a driver in Flipkart company reported that on the night of Feburary 7, he was carrying a consignment of Flipkart company from its warehouse to the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in a truck.
When he reached near Dhulsiras Chowk, his truck was intercepted by four persons who were in two different vehicles. He was overpowered by them. They took his truck to a lonely place.
Thereafter, they tied his hands and legs and put a cloth in his mouth and dropped him in bushes near the truck and transferred the goods from his trucks to another vehicle and sped away.
On Friday, an information was received that two criminals who are involved in a robbery case of Flipkart are present in Narela area, subsequently a trap was laid and apprehended two persons namely, Gaurav and Guddu.
“On sustained interrogation, they disclosed that they along with their two associates namely Vinit and Lallan Yadav had robbed a truck of Flip Cart company from the area of Dwarka,” Dr. G.Ram Gopal Naik, DCP Crime Branch.
“They further disclosed that they had shifted the robbed articles to a rented shop in village Bhorgarh and on their instance 67 parcels of plastics bags of Flipkart containing mobile phones, clothes, shoes among others worth Rs 20 lakhs were recovered," he added.
