BJP for third party audit of civic projects
Another key focus will be on primary education for which the party has promised to start nursery classes in all the municipal schools.
New Delhi: Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s famous saying, “Na khaunga, na khane dunga” (neither will I take bribe, nor will I allow anyone to take bribe), the BJP is all set to promise “third party’ inspection of all the municipal projects to keep a check on corruption in the national capital. The promise of third party inspection is part of Delhi BJP’s civic poll manifesto in which the party also talked about standardisation of primary health and education, citizen charter, and good governance.
According to a member of Delhi BJP’s manifesto committee, the focus will be on corruption free administration, which is also the focus of PM Modi. “To check corruption in big projects, which always come under the scanner, it has been proposed that all such projects will be inspected by well established or reputed government agency. The third party will inspect all the aspect of big ticket projects like whether the tender documents are prepared properly or not, the project is completed on time or not, and the quality of work,” he added. The finer points of the BJP manifesto accessed by this newspaper shows that the party is promising good governance with minimum human interaction in delivery of services by adopting Mr Modi’s ambitious ‘digital India’ initiative.
“Our focus will be on responsible, target oriented and time bound delivery mechanisms,” he said. BJP is also talking about standardisation of health services of the three civic bodies.
“We ensure quality health which will be certified through international certification. We also made ‘standard operating procedure’ (SOP) for health facilities for all the three municipal corporations,” said a member of the manifesto panel committee.
Another key focus will be on primary education for which the party has promised to start nursery classes in all the municipal schools. There are around 1,500 municipal schools.
“Apart from opening nursery classes, BJP will take several initiatives like adopt a school scheme to improve the standard of education in the municipal school with the help of private schools and NGOs,” said the source.
BJP’s manifesto also talks about digital corporations, water conservation, developing a mechanism with the help of Centre so that funds cannot be stalled by the state government, and sops for the poor.
