Four robbers held, truck carrying copper seized

New Delhi: With the arrest of four highway robbers, the Delhi police has busted a gang of highway robbers involved in similar offences and active in Delhi-NCR. A loaded truck carrying copper worth Rs 70 lakh has been recovered. All the accused were involved in more than two dozen cases.
Police has identified the accused as Ram Raj (33), Manoj (25) of Pratapgarh, UP, Vishal (25) and Ajay (35) of Sonipat, Haryana.
According to the police, the complainant was from Rajasthan. He is the proprietor of a logistics firm and deals in the transport of copper from Bhiwadi, Rajasthan to Delhi.

Accordingly, the driver left for Delhi, on Saturday at about 7.30am. Let he received a call from the driver who told him that truck along with goods was robbed at knife point by four armed robbers at Kirti Nagar. The driver also told him that he was hit on the head and administered some substance due to which he fell unconscious. When regained consciousness, he found himself in the forest of Narela.
During interrogation, the driver said that the conspiracy was hatched by them and to give it an impression of highway robbery, he was injured on the head.
However, the probe demolished the accused’s defense and he confessed to his involvement in the crime.
After conducting several midnight raids, the police found the truck containing the copper parked at a secluded place.
