Delhi: Woman, teen friend found dead in hotel
Preliminary probe reveals that the boy and the girl were known to each other and had checked in to the OYO rooms on Thursday.
New Delhi: Tension prevailed at a guest house in Dwarka’s Sector 17 on Friday evening after a boy and a girl were found hanging from the ceiling fan. According to the police, the boy is a student of Class 12 and the girl is a first year MBBS student. Both are residents of Delhi.
Preliminary probe reveals that the boy and the girl were known to each other and had checked in to the OYO rooms on Thursday. According to the police, the deceased boy was a resident of Dwarka while the girl was a resident of Uttam Nagar. One of the deceased’s father is said to be a wireless operator in the CISF.
The police said that the duo was supposed to check out on Friday. The police further said that the incident came to light when the two didn’t check out at 12 am, following which a member of house-keeping staff knocked at the door. There was no response. After repeated knocks, when no one answered the door, the concerned staff called the manager. When even he did not get any response, the police was informed, who along with a team broke the door open. The duo was found hanging from the ceiling of the room. According to the police, there was no suicide note found at the crime spot. Teams from FSL carried out the probe along with the police and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
It is said that the Oyo property where the incident took place is situated in Sector 17 and was rented. The property supposedly had over 20 rooms. The police suspect that one of the deceased might be a juvenile.
