Strong steps to check ragging in DU campus

New Delhi: If any student is found indulging in ragging at the Delhi University or college campuses, it will lead to a penal action or expulsion/cancellation of the degree. 

In a meeting on Friday, the varsity’s proctorial board deliberated upon 20 measures to ensure maintenance of discipline and prevention of ragging in the University and colleges during the opening of the new academic session.

The meeting was attended by officials of the Delhi police, DTC, Metro and senior officials from the varsity.’

DU will be setting up two Joint Control Rooms, one each in the North and South Campus, beginning July 20 till August 2 and all colleges, faculties, departments and hostels have been requested to form “anti-ragging disciplinary committees. Regular inspections will also be done to detect unauthorised stay in hostels.
