New Delhi: To mark the World Diabetic Day, New Delhi Municipal Council dedicated a health diabetics outdoor gymnasium for diabetics aimed to improve their health at Nehru Park.

On the occasion, the NDMC chairperson, Naresh Kumar said that physical activities and, importantly, daily exercise was a vital and basic component of the treatment plan for a diabetic, which would help control the blood sugar level to some extent.

The event was organised in coordination with the Lions International Club.

According to him, gym equipment installed at Nehru Park has been specially designed. “The NDMC has opened ‘Open Gymnasia’ at 93 locations in New Delhi and 25 more would be commissioned shortly for the benefit of the people, he added.

“Diabetes is a disorder of blood sugar level that affects a person due to change in lifestyle, junk food habits etc. So, one should connect himself/herself with nature to get rid of this disease,” added Mr Kumar.
