New Delhi: Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday said that he has received complaints about the Class 12 CBSE accountancy paper being leaked.

The three-hour exam was conducted across the country on Thursday morning by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The exam began around 10:30 am and Mr Sisodia tweeted about the leak after an hour. “Received complaints about the Class 12 CBSE accountancy paper being leaked. Have asked officers of Directorate of Education to investigate and lodge a complaint with CBSE,” he wrote on Twitter. “Swift action must be taken, so that hard-working students don’t suffer due to the negligence of CBSE,” added Mr Sisodia, who also holds the education portfolio.

The education department officials did not elaborate on the complaints it had received.

The CBSE, however, denied the allegations and said that the seals have been found intact at all the exam centres.

It said that during the process of examination, some miscreants at local level have tried to play mischief by circulating messages through Whatsapp and other social media to “disturb the sanctity of examination”.

“There has been no leakage of the question paper. All the seals have been found intact at all the exam centres,” the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said.

It added that it has decided to take strict action against such activities and an FIR is being lodged on Thursday. The question paper reportedly matched the set II of the CBSE’s accountancy questin paper.

Mr Sisodia later added, “CBSE is one of the most reputed organsations. I’m sure they will take swift action and try to find out how the paper reached Whatsapp right before the exam. If a particular centre is at fault then don’t let all the students suffer.”
