Twitter war of words between Kapil, Kejriwal's wife Sunita
Ms Kejriwal's remarks came a day after Mr Mishra accused Mr Kejriwal-led AAP of lying about its donation figures to the election commission.
New Delhi: The battle between Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and rebel Aam Aadmi Party leader Kapil Mishra is heating up, with their family members taking sides in the public war of words.
On Monday, chief minister’s wife Sunita Kejriwal and suspended AAP leader Kapil Mishra had a heated exchange on Twitter. Slamming Mr Mishra, who was ousted from Mr Kejriwal’s city cabinet, Ms Kejriwal said all the allegations levelled by him were false. Taking a dig at Mr Mishra’s allegations, she said, “When did you come to house on May 5? I did not get to know or else would have offered you a cup of tea as always.” She even warmed him against the consequences of his actions.
Ms Kejriwal’s remarks came a day after Mr Mishra accused Mr Kejriwal-led AAP of lying about its donation figures to the election commission.
“Law of nature never errs, seeds of betrayal, false allegations sown, so shall he (Mr Mishra) reap. Inevitable,” Ms Kejriwal tweeted.
The former city water minister responded to her attack, saying she is unaware about the truth behind these allegations. While refraining from a directly attack her, he said Ms Kejriwal is worried over the declining fortunes of her husband.
Last year, Delhi chief minister’s wife had quit her job by opting for the voluntary retirement scheme from the Indian Revenue Service. Ms Kejriwal has generally refrained from making public statements, but with high drama engulfing AAP, she has been actively bashing Mr Mishra on Twitter.
Earlier, the rebel Aam Aadmi Party leader’s mother in an open letter had slammed Mr Kejriwal.
