Drive by narcotics dept: Three held, 50kg ganja seized

New Delhi: A massive drive against drug peddlers was initiated by the Delhi police and three ganja suppliers were arrested. As much was 50kg of ganja and 3kg of opium was recovered.
The arrested accused were identified as, Harender Mandal (65) resident of Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. He was in Border Security Force (BSF) and served for four years and before he left the job.

Accused Praveen Yadav (25) of Sonia Vihar, Delhi, Dinesh Kumar (42) resident of Amroha, UP, Rashid (23) resident of Ghaziabad, Hafizul (29) of Bawana, Delhi.
According to the police, in first case on May 10, a secret information was received by the narcotics cell that two persons namely Harender and Praveen were procuring ganja from Odisha and supplying the same in Delhi.
Accordingly a trap was laid near the expected spots. When the above car and accused persons were identified, the car was stopped and both the persons apprehended.
About 50kg of ganja was recovered from the car in which the accused were traveling. In the second case on May 10, information was received that one Dinesh Kumar who is involved in sale of opium would come to Delhi to supply opium to a receiver.
On receipt of this info, a team of narcotics cell laid a trap near Mukundpur Flyover, Delhi where the accused Dinesh came and was apprehended and three kg of fine quality opium was recovered from his possession.
