They can only offer temperately solution of eve-teasing and other crime against women and commuters.
New Delhi: Security of Delhi Metro commuters, especially women passengers, seems to be at the mercy of miscreants as the concern security agencies who guard the metro premises are having the shortage of manpower.
They can only offer temperately solution of eve-teasing and other crime against women and commuters.
In such a move, Central Industrial Security force (CISF) who is responsible for the security of Delhi Metro is going to take preventive measures to deal with eve teasers at Delhi Metro stations at Delhi-NCR region, the force is going to deploy quick reaction teams (QRTs) and will intensify patrolling by its quick QRT teams in the Metro network in order to thwart any untoward activity. The step was taken after two days when a journalist was molested at ITO M etro station.
“We will deploy our quick reaction teams at the selective metro stations and this team will patrol at various metro stations.
These teams will be deployed at those metro stations where miscreants are hyper active. We know that a QRT’s main task was to deal with anti-terror actives, but women’s security is also our prime concern and till we not have any other better options to deal with such incidents, we will deploy these teams,” said a senior CISF official.
