Brother identifies body of defence accounts officer

The police on Saturday will file a case into the alleged suicide case based on his wife's statement.

New Delhi: In a fresh development in the mysterious disapperance-cum-death case of an Indian Defence Accounts Services officer who had gone missing on Monday from his house in Shivali Apartment in Sector-9 of Dwarka, the brother identified the deceased’s body on Friday.

It may be noted the officer was found dead on Thursday on the railway tracks in Palam.

On Friday, the elder brother of the deceased Jitender Kumar Jha, Amrendra Kumar Jha reached Delhi on Friday and went to the mortuary with the police team where he identified the body of his deceased brother.

Following the identification, the police have sent the body for post mortem. On Saturday, the body will be handed over to the family.

On Thursday evening, once the news of the IDAS officer’s death reached them, the deceased’s wife and his nephew refused to cooperate with the police and didn’t identify the body.

After refused to identify the body, the police decided to carry out the DNA test of the slain officer. “The wife didn’t identify the body stating it was badly mutilated. However, the deceased’s elder brother completed the formality of identifying the body on Friday,” said the police.

The police on Saturday will file a case into the alleged suicide case based on his wife’s statement.
