New Delhi: In separate incidents, stones were pelted on three different trains, including trains like Shatabdi, in the national capital.
Some anti-social elements pelted stones at Humsafar Express for their amusement near Patel Nagar, Ferozepur Shatabdi near Dayabasti, and at Ranchi Rajdhani between Delhi-Ghaziabad route. The three incidents took place on Friday evening.
These incidents in 24 hours raise serious questions on the security of passengers travelling in these trains, including trains like Shatabdi and Rajdhani, in which VIPs also travel many times.
The worst condition was of the Ferozepur Shatabdi as the stone-pelters broke more than two dozen windows. However, the only relief was that none of the passengers sustained any injuries in any of the incidents.
Incidents like these are not new in Delhi; earlier too such incidents had taken place.
The railway police, along with GRP and Delhi police, has provided additional security at sensitive locations. However, the condition is same.
Railway’s chief public relation officer said, “Most of the accused are persons residing adjacent to the railway tracks. Teams of Railway Protection Force have launched a manhunt to counsel as well as nab them.”
