Man held with bullet rounds on Delhi Metro station

Carrying arms and ammunition in the Delhi Metro network is banned under law.

New Delhi: A 29-year-old man was on Saturday held on a Delhi Metro station for allegedly carrying two live bullets in his bag.

Officials said the incident was reported from the Surajmal Stadium station around 5:00 pm when a CISF personnel detected the live ammunition, of .315 bore calibre, in his bag.

They said the bullets were detected during the X-ray scanning of the bag and the man was not allowed to go inside the station premises.

“The man identified as Kuldip is a resident of Timarpur locality in Delhi and has been handed over to the police by CISF as he could not produce any documents for carrying the rounds,” they said.
