Kirari MLA, locals join hands for bus to Bihar
The bus will initially operate twice a week to Bihar and over time, will turn into a daily service.
New Delhi: In a unique initiative, Delhi BJP media in-charge Pratyush Kanth along with local residents flagged off a new bus service from Kirari to Bihar. The bus will operate twice a week.
The bus service, launched by residents of Kirari, will touch remote parts of Bihar and conclude at Madhwapur on the Indo-Nepal border.
Earlier, the Kirari residents had chased chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders for three years, but to no avail. Mr Kanth flagged-off a packed bus on its maiden journey to Bihar from Kirari, amidst celebrations in which hundreds of local residents took part.
The bus will initially operate twice a week to Bihar and over time, will turn into a daily service.
“Initially, it was difficult for the people to travel up to Bihar and now several Bihari residents have come together and started this bi-weekly bus service up to Madhwapur on the Indo-Nepal border via Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Benipatti among other cities,” the BJP leader said.
A large number of people living here come from these parts of Bihar, he added.
The BJP leader also claimed that Kirari is an example of an area where eight lakh underprivileged people live in an eight kilometre radius with no support from the government.
“Earlier, the Congress too had neglected the area and now the Kejriwal government has also done the same. Nothing for the people of Kirari. It is unfortunate that the negligence by the government has given rise to a silent movement among the residents of the area,” Mr Kanth added.
