Delhi: 17-year-old dies in school assembly

Preliminary report hints that Sonu may have suffered from cardiac arrest whereas his parents claimed their child was medically fit.

New Delhi: A 17-year-old student died under mysterious circumstances on Thursday inside a school premises during the morning assembly at Kendriya Vidyalaya School.

The police said that the incident took place in New Delhi’s Gole Market area. The deceased, a Class 6 student, Sonu Kumar, was a resident of Railway Colony in Kishanganj. 

According to the police, the victim, while participating in the school assembly, fell unconscious following which he was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead. Probe reveals that Sonu, son of Vishwamitra Saha, was healthy when he had left for school. He had no medical condition. 

Preliminary report hints that Sonu may have suffered from cardiac arrest whereas his parents claimed their child was medically fit. Sonu is survived by his father, a railway employee and mother.  He had left for school at 6 am. The cops has registered a case and have ordered a probe into the same.
