Congress mega rally against sealing drive next week
Congress will hold a mahapanchayat†of rural and urbanised villages on Sunday at Rangpuri in Delhi.
New Delhi: In order to chart out its future strategy against the ongoing sealing drive, Congress will hold a “mahapanchayat” of rural and urbanised villages on Sunday at Rangpuri in Delhi.
Senior Congress leader Mukesh Sharma said that people were suffering owing to the sealing drive as the AAP government in Delhi and BJP government at the Centre had failed to present the real facts before the Supreme Court monitoring committee, which had ordered to seal the illegal factories and shops in the city.
Local Congress leader Vijay Lochav said the condition of villages had become so bad that there was no land for farmers to cultivate crops as the DDA had acquired the land by paying very little compensation to the farmers. He said the poor farmers had started small businesses to earn their livelihood, but the sealing drive had taken a direct toll on their financial health.
Young party leader Jagparvesh Kumar said the sealing drive was being carried out with the silent approval of the AAP government and the BJP-led municipal corporations. He said that during Congress’ rule, 22 areas had been declared as industrial zones by using certain provisions of the Master Plan. He demanded that the same provisions should be used to declare 70 areas as new industrial zones.
Launching a scathing attack on Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari, Mr Sharna said the leader of the saffron outfit had broken the seal of a shop to project that he was against the sealing drive.
