Multi-level car parking at Rajouri Garden soon
"Presently, Delhi is having around one crore vehicles out of which the number of cars is substantial," Mr Verma added.
New Delhi: To address the problem of parking under its jurisdiction, South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Friday started construction of an automated multi-level car parking in Rajouri Garden.
Construction work was jointly inaugurated by Lok Sabha member from West Delhi, Pravesh Verma, and mayor Narender Chawla at F-Block Market, Rajouri Garden.
Appreciating the result-oriented efforts of SDMC in solving the problem of parking in different localities, Mr Verma said that the first automated swift multilevel parking is a beginning as SDMC had to walk extra miles to overcome the difficulties faced by citizens in parking their vehicles.
"Presently, Delhi is having around one crore vehicles out of which the number of cars is substantial," Mr Verma added.
Mr Chawla announced that the new parking site will be commissioned within this year.
"It will have electric control system, monitoring system, elevator, lift lobby and reliable fire safety system. It has been decided to add parking capacity for another 3,500 cars in various localities,” he said.
“The multilevel parking with ground floor and five another floors will provide parking for as many as 200 cars at parking spaces from first to fifth floor," Mr Chawla added.
