AIIMS: Women claim first 3 MBBS ranks
The top 100 candidates represent 43 cities spread over 20 states/Union Territories (UTs).
New Delhi: The All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) declared the results for its Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) entrance exam for 800 seats on Monday, with the first three three ranks going to women candidates.
A total of 7,617 candidates have qualified in this examination (2,705 female and 4,912 male) and are eligible for online counseling session for admission in the AIIMS.
The top 100 candidates represent 43 cities spread over 20 states/Union Territories (UTs). A similar spread is seen in the list of all qualified candidates with almost every state/UTs being represented.
From this year onwards, the counseling process will be conducted in online mode except the open round of counseling.
The exam was conducted on May 26 and 27 for AIIMS, New Delhi and other eight AIIMS. Out of a total of 4,52,931 eligible candidates, 3,74,520 candidates appeared in the examination.
There are 100 seats each in AIIMS, New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh and for the first time, 50 seats each in AIIMS, Mangalagiri (Guntur) and Nagpur, a statement by the AIIMS, Delhi said.
The examination was held in computer-based test (online) mode and for the first time in four shifts spread across two days. It was conducted in 316 centres in 154 cities of 29 states and three UTs.
