New Delhi: On the fourth day of the ongoing ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Tuesday undertook a special sanitation drive at 20 religious places situated in its jurisdiction.

The religious places are Greta Bhawan Temple – Bengali Market, Auliya Mosque – Minto Road, Church of North India, Dargah – B.K. Dutt Colony, Masjid Abdul Kalam – Connaught Place, Masjid K.G. Marg, Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, Rakabganj Gurudwara, Sanatandharam Mandir, Aliganj Mandir and Hanuman Mandir.

According to a senior NDMC official, the priests of temples, sewadar of gurudwaras and religious persons of church and mosques participated in the sanitation drive, along with the team of NDMC safai sevaks. Over 2,000 safai sevaks participated in the drive.   

“The NDMC work force carried out an intensive sanitation drive at these religious places of New Delhi area. And the special emphasis was laid on cleanliness and removal of garbage, and floral waste. , unauthorized encroachment in an around religious places,” he said.
