New Delhi: An unknown person has threatened five Delhi high court judges of death if they do not give him Rs 80 lakh. The man, who is yet to be identified, has written two letters to the registrar general of the Delhi high court threatening the judges. Police sources said that it was not mentioned in the letters for what reasons he was demanding the money.
“Paigam-E-Maut was written on the letters. The accused sent two inlands to Ramesh Chand, the registrar general of the Delhi high court. He did not sign his name. The accused has also threatened one of the staff members of the high court,” the source said.
He added that the accused has mentioned the name of one of the metropolitan magistrates, Sonu Agnihotri, as their leader. He has written that judges will die if they don’t meet Mr Agnihotri.
“We understand that he deliberately wrote the name of the metropolitan magistrate to complicate the matter,” the source said.
In another letter, he has directed one of the judges to meet a conductor at Dhaula Kuan.
“A judge has been directed to meet Rajen-der, a conductor at Dhaula Kuan Gay Park. But we don’t know whether there is anyone by the name of Rajender who is actually a conductor or if he lives near Dhaula Kuan. The accused has further mentioned that he should be given Rs 80 lakh, or the judges will meet with dire consequences,” the source said.
