25-year-old beaten to death by kin over money
Khangah brother Shunreiwung was in Gurgaon when the incident happened, he said.
New Delhi: A 25-year-old from Manipur was allegedly beaten to death by his cousin over a monetary issue in Southeast Delhi’s Sunlight Colony on Thursday, the police said.
The deceased has been identified as Suihami Khangah. He used to stay in a rented accommodation along with his brother A.S. Shunreiwung and his cousin Lei Shinghàm, said DCP (Southeast) Chinmoy Biswal.
On Thursday around 5.30 am, an information regarding the incident. Some blood clots and stains were found at the spot. However, the injured had already been taken to the hospital. The victim was admitted to the hospital with severe head injuries and succumbed during treatment.
The trio was working in call centres in Noida and Gurgaon. Shingham allegedly attacked Khangah with an iron rod on his head, the police said.
The police found some liquor bottles at the spot, which indicated that they were having a party, following which the duo got into a fight.
The scuffle happened over the withdrawal of some money by Khangah from Shingham’s account. After attacking Khangah, Shingham fled from the spot.
Their landlady, who stays on the top floor, saw Shingham running from the spot and informed her husband, the police said.
They found Khangah lying in a pool of blood and informed the police. The accused is yet to be arrested, the police said.
