New Delhi: With the aim of making people aware of plastic-borne pollution, the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EMDC) in association with Indian Pollution Control Association will start a door-to-door campaign in different areas under its jurisdiction. This campaign will run from October 22 to November 1.
Under the eight-day-long campaign, the EDMC will create awareness among people about the adverse effects of plastic. Additionally, important information is to be given to people about segregation, collection, storage, storage, processing or disposing of plastic waste.
According to additional commissioner, EDMC, Alka Sharma, the corporation is constantly trying to reduce the side-effects of plastic. “The corporation is taking services of various agencies for the collection of waste materials and litter, segregation and disposal. These agencies will ensure that separated plastic waste must be sent to relevant vendors,” Ms Sharma added.
