75-year-old woman found murdered
The murder came to light when the deceased's tenant whom she used to meet daily went to check on her.
New Delhi: In an alleged personal enmity case, a 75-year-old woman was found murdered in her home in southwest Delhi's Najafgarh on Friday morning.
The deceased, identified as Pushpa Rani, living alone after her husband passed away few years ago.
Preliminary probe suggests that someone known to the deceased committed the crime, as the police found no traces of forced entry.
Also, no articles were found missing from the house. Therefore, the police believe it is not a robbery attempt that went wrong, but are probing all angles.
The murder came to light when the deceased's tenant whom she used to meet daily went to check on her.
It was the tenant who informed the police. Soon after, a police team rushed to the crime spot and took the deceased to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Her body has been preserved in Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital and “the post mortem is being conducted”, said a police official.
Probe reveals that the body had no injury marks on her neck and it appears she was murdered late at night or earlier in the morning, as the blood on her neck and on the floor had dried up.
Her tenant was the first one to have noticed the deceased lying in a pool of blood and immediately informed the cops about it.
On Friday, when the victim come out of her home , the tenant went to check on her and found the doors of the house unlocked. As she walked in, she saw the old woman’s body lying on the floor.
The police said a team has been formed. Probe is underway.
