Youth held for murder of woman in guest house
They met at the Kashmere Gate ISBT after which they visited the guest house.
New Delhi: A day after a woman was found dead at a guest house near Jama Masjid, the police on Sunday arrested a youth who had strangled her.
Probe revealed that the woman had an argument with the youth over a monetary dispute during which she had slapped him. The youth claimed that he had strangled the woman when she threatened to frame him in false case of sexual assault and slapped him.
The youth, Azam (22), who worked as a truck driver had met the 21-year-old woman in Baghpat two years ago after which she had fled with him to Delhi and married at a local mosque. She then went back to her husband, but kept meeting Azam.
He said that on Saturday the woman had called him to Delhi. They met at the Kashmere Gate ISBT after which they visited the guest house. Azam had given his Aadhaar card for verification and booked a room. He said that the woman started demanding Rs 10,000 from him which he had borrowed a year back. Azam claimed that he had returned the money to her which she refused to ack-nowledge. During this, the woman slapped Azam and threatened to frame him under a false case. Azam strangled the woman with his hands and and fled.
