New Delhi: A 31-year-old teacher, working on contract basis with a municipal corporation-run primary school, was shot dead by unknown assailants in Northwest Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar. The police sources claimed that as many as ten rounds of fire were shot by the assailants.
“We found Deepak in a pool of blood. He was immediately removed to a nearby government hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. His body bore multiple gun wounds,” the police said.
Sources in the police said that Deepak, a resident of Tajpur, went to school near NDPL office in the area in his WagonR. He parked the vehicle outside the school and went to teach his students.
“Minutes before the incident, Deepak received a phone call. After receiving the call, he went outside the school where he was attacked. Our preliminary inquiry suggests that Deepak tried to save himself. He ran towards his car to take shelter. But the assailants kept on firing. He received multiple gunshot wounds and fell on the ground,” said the sources.
“As of now we have not found any witness who saw the assailants,” the source said.
