Lawyer molests woman in court

The victim has identified the accused lawyer as Ashok Gupta.

New Delhi: A 32-year-old Solapur-based woman has registered an FIR against a city-based lawyer for allegedly sexually harassing her inside his cabin in Patiala House Courts on January 5. The accused advocate allegedly pulled down his pants and forced  the woman to touch his private parts. The incident took place on January 5 when the complainant, identified as Usha, who hails from Pathri in Solapur in Maharashtra, went to meet the lawyer. The victim has identified the accused lawyer as Ashok Gupta. In her complaint to the police, the victim stated that she had come to the city to meet PM Narendra Modi regarding an issue and wanted to give a written complaint. While the woman was standing at Gate no. 4, the accused walked up to her and allegedly asked her the reason for standing in the court premises. “As I was standing near gate no. 4, the lawyer introduced himself as Ashok Gupta and asked me the reason for my visit. I told him about the complaint. He said that he will help me register the complaint.” She further stated that as she went with the advocate to his chamber, he asked her to first pay his fees to which the complainant said that she is not carrying money. “The advocate said if you don’t have money it’s alright. You let me touch you and you will not be charged. He then pulled down his pants, flashed his genitals and asked me to touch it. When I refused, he attempted to forced himself following which I ran out of the cabin and called the police,” added the complainant.

The police reached the spot and recorded her statement. The advocate, however, managed to escape from the spot.
