Noida: Army officer's wife duped by fake bank official

The culprit told her that her credit cards are being blocked and asked for pin number and other details. She gave the details to him.

Noida: A senior army officer's wife was allegedly duped of Rs 49,990 by a person who impersonated a bank official and called her asking for credit card details.

On March 13, the woman lodged an FIR at Noida sector 20 police station, SHO Anil Pratap Singh said on Wednesday.

Sector 30 resident Bijendra Kaur, in her FIR stated that a man called on her phone and claimed that he was a bank official from State Bank of India, Singh said.

He told her that her credit cards are being blocked and asked for pin number and other details. She gave the details to him.

Soon after, three online transactions were done using her card details.

Two transactions were of Rs 20,000 each and one was of Rs 9,990, police said, adding further investigations in the case are underway.
