New Delhi: It seems kidnappers had a field day on Thursday where, in three separate incidents, miscreants kidnapped four children, including a daughter of a BSF constable, from New Delhi Railway Station.

However, their plans to extort money was thwarted by the police. Two women kidnappers were arrested by the police after a tip-off. The arrested kidnappers have been identified as Vishnu and Geeta.

According to police, Asit Nayak (32), a resident of Odisha, visited the police station on Thursday around 9.30 am. He introduced himself as a constable in the BSF, presently posted at Ferozpur in Punjab. He said that he had reached Delhi with his wife and a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter at around 5.30 am on Thursday. They were on their way to Odisha and were supposed to board the Bhubaneswar Duronto Express in the noon. When they were waiting for their train at the station, he realised that his daughter was not with them. They searched everywhere, but could not find her. Thereafter, he filed the police complaint. A case under Section 363 of the IPC was registered at the New Delhi railway police station.

Intense search was carried out and all CCTV cameras installed at the railway station were scanned. After zeroing in on the suspected persons, a drive was launched find the suspects. Regular contact was maintained with the complainant, secret sources were briefed, and dossiers of criminals were also scrutinised.

On Friday, a police team and the complainant went to the Minto Bridge crossing on Bhavbhuti Marg on the basis of a tip-off. The girl child was found there with two women. The women were immediately arrested and the girl child was rescued.

During interrogation, the women disclosed that they go to various railway stations in Delhi for begging along with their four children. On Thursday, they had gone to New Delhi Railway Station. When they were crossing the foot over bridge (Sadar Bazar side), they noticed the victim. She was alone. Their children started playing with the girl. It was during this time that they decided to take the child with them.
