New Delhi: The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) on Thursday formed a massive human chain, as a mark of protest against the recent c, in the capital.

The chain started from Mandi House and went till Parliament House. DPCC president Ajay Maken said price of petrol and diesel was at an all-time high due to excise duty imposed by Centre and VAT charged by Delhi government.

He demanded roll back of both taxes.

Thousands of Congress workers and volunteers, who formed the human chain, also held placards and banners against the central and Delhi governments.

“Street vendors and common people joined the human chain to express solidarity with the Congress. We got a huge response from the Delhiites in our signature campaign. We will continue to fight against the hike in petrol and dielse prices till the prices of petrol and diesel are reduced,” Mr Maken said.
