New Delhi: Terming the AAP government’s fourth Budget as a mere jugglery of statistics, city BJP president Manoj Tiwari on Thursday said the government has again announced schemes without seeking constitutional approval. He termed the government’s “green Budget” as “red Budget,” saying it will stop all the development and welfare schemes in the city.

Mr Tiwari claimed that the Budget speech of Delhi finance minister Manish Sisodia was more like AAP’s election manifesto, full of falsehoods.

He alleged that privatisation of services was an attempt by the Delhi government to benefit the middlemen and ultimately themselves. He also termed the Budget ridiculous and laughable.

Mr Tiwari also took a dig at the Delhi government, saying that chief minister Arvind Kejriwal was the biggest critic of the GST when it was introduced. However, the same government was heaping praises on GST in the Budget speech.

Delhi PCC president Ajay Maken too termed the AAP government’s budget as “hollow.”

Showering praises on former chief minister Sheila Dikshit’s 15-year-rule, Mr Maken said that all the development works done by her have been ruined by the AAP government.

Along with former city ministers and Speakers, Mr Maken watched the Budget presentation by Mr Sisodia on a big screen at the DPCC office before each of them gave their reactions on the basis of their experience in the city government.

Mr Maken said it was very strange that in every AAP Budget, it is claimed that 1,500 new buses would be added to the DTC fleet; 1,000 mohalla clinics would be established; and CCTV cameras will be setup and free Wi-Fi would be provided, but the ground reality is totally different as none of these promises have been fulfilled.
