Reply to Arun Jaitley plea, Delhi HC tells Arvind Kejriwal
Justice Manmohan issued notice to Kejriwal and sought his response within four weeks.
New Delhi: The Delhi high court on Wednesday sought Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's response on a plea seeking action against him for allegedly filing a “false affidavit” that he had not instructed his counsel to use derogatory words against Union finance minister Arun Jaitley.
Justice Manmohan issued notice to Kejriwal and sought his response within four weeks. He listed the matter for December 11. It may be noted Mr Jaitley had filed a Rs 10 crore defamation suit against Mr Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders.
Senior advocates R. Nayar and S. Sethi, representing Mr Jaitley urged the court to allow them to file a criminal complaint against Mr Kejriwal for making a false statement and filing a false affidavit.
During the cross examination on May 17, former counsel of Mr Kejriwal, Ram Jethm-alani had used the said offensive words against Mr Jaitley. Mr Jethmalani said that he was specifically instructed by Mr Kejriwal to use a derogatory word against Mr Jaitley.
