Cops foxed by man's Kejriwal marega' call

Drunk's threat on CM's death turns out to be hoax .

New Delhi: Panic prevailed in the police department on Wednesday when they received a telephone call  in which the caller just spoke two words —“Kejriwal marega”.

According to the police, the call was received by Wazirpur Industrial Area police at around 7.30 pm. The caller had called up police control room (PCR) on Wednesday evening and said that ‘Kejriwal will die’. Soon, the police alerted their higher-ups and a team was formed to trace the caller.

However, it later turned out to be a hoax call and the caller was identified as Ravindra Kumar Tiwar, who was said to be in an inebriated state.

“A call was received around 7.30 pm at the police control room. Teams were formed who after a long search of over three hours managed to trace the caller which turned out to be from Hawke’s Bay.

The caller Ravinder Kumar Tiwari, a resident of Rama Vihar, was he was heard shouting the slogan ‘Kejriwal marega’ when the local police reached his home.

The team immediately nabbed him and learnt from neighbours that he is an alcoholic and a vagabond.  

Mr Tiwari under the influence of alchohol had dialed to the PCR. The police took him into custody and sent him to jail.

The caller was tracked down on the basis of his call details and locations. The police has informed the Intelligence Bureau and police about the same and are probing in this connection.

It is not the first time a threat call was made against CM Arvind Kejriwal.

On June 3, 2017, a cop was arrested on charges of making a call issuing a death threat to the CM. Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
