Truck driver held for Rs 40 lakhs theft
The owner of the cargo company informed they don't have details of truck driver as he was newly employed in the company.
New Delhi: The South Delhi police team has arrested a truck driver and his associate whose job was to dupe private online aggregators and make massive profits.
The South Delhi police said cargo truck driver, Sanjay Kumar Yadav, and Hukum Dev Yadav, 26, both hailing from Bihar were arrested for allegedly escaping with goods worth Rs 40 lakhs.
According to the police, the incident took place on Nov. 7.
One Mukesh Kumar, resident of Shalimar Garden Extension-2, Sahibabad, a last mile logistics aggregator, lodged a complaint at Vasant Kunj South police station on Nov. 7 that duo had run away with the cargo of one of his clients, Delhi Very Private Limited, loaded a consignment of 160 bags with items such as mobile phones among others worth Rs 40 lakhs.
The police said that a container truck was arranged through an associate vendor, Alfa Packers and Movers, left the delivery hub of IGI Airport and after loading the cargo with to transport it (cargo) to a warehouse in Samalkha, Kapasera Mr Kumar said that the company was engaged in transportation of goods and offered commercial vehicles for last mile delivery through third party vendors.
However, the truck driver, Sanjay, never reached the destination. It was informed that the truck was later found abandoned under Rajokri flyover, NH-8
Preliminary investigation revealed that there might be a possibility that the truck driver had unloaded the goods from the aforesaid truck and concealed the same in nearby locations. The truck driver’s mobile phone was switched off.

The police finally apprehended the driver in a clinical raid from Pochanpur village.
