New Delhi: An Indian labour fell to death from the Kuwait embassy in the high-security area of Chankya Puri.

His body was found in the premises of the embassy of the Republic of Poland which is adjacent to the Kuwait embassy. The police has registered an FIR for negligence against a construction company, which is yet to be named.

The victim has been identified as Sachoo (30), a native of Bihar and a resident of the Kapashera area in Delhi.

“On February 20, the police received a PCR call that a man fell to his death in the premises of the Poland embassy. Soon after getting the information, a police team rushed to the spot and inquired about the incident. However, the team could not get any clue as there was no eyewitness. Later, it was found that the victim was a labour and was working in an ongoing repairing work at the Kuwait embassy. He fell down when he was climbing the iron structure, which is four-five storeys high, and died on the spot,” said a police official.

“The labour died on the spot after falling from the iron structure. We heard a sound and rushed to the spot and found him dead. We immediately informed the police about the incident and within a few minutes the police reached the spot,” said an employee of the Poland embassy on the condition of anonymity.

Meanwhile, police is investigating the matter and has asked the concerned embassy to provide the CCTV footage. “We will examine the footage and will ascertain the sequence of the incident. We have informed MHA and the concerned agencies about the incident and filed a case against the unknown company,” said a senior police official.

The police has filed the case under Section 288/304A of IPC.
