Female teacher assaulted by her colleague in lab

She mentioned that during the assault, the math teacher grabbed a steel bottle and hit her with it.

New Delhi: A 61-year-old teacher attached to a government school in Kanjhawal was allegedly locked inside a home science lab and beaten by a fellow teacher.

The victim, who is a resident of Bahadurgarh was saved in time other school teachers, hearing her cries, came to her rescue.

The police said that the victim lives in Bahadurgarh with her family and has been teaching in Kanjhawal’s JJ Colony’s Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya as post graduate teacher. The incident took place on April 21, when the victim was inside the home science lab. According to the police, the incident is said to have taken place on April 21 morning while the teachers were working inside the home science lab.

The victim, along with others, were working when suddenly the accused math teacher allegedly entered the lab and asked the other teachers to leave the lab, as she wanted to speak to the victim. All the teachers present in the lab, left quietly, while the accused teacher bolted the lab door from inside. In her plaint, the  victim said that the accused lady allegedly attacked without any provocation. She mentioned that during the assault, the math teacher grabbed a steel bottle and hit her with it.

The assault came to light when the victim raised an alarm and began crying for help. Hearing her loud cries, other teachers rushed to the lab. The victim managed to escape from the lab by unbolting the door. Seeing her condition, the school management informed the police control room, who in turn visited the spot and took the injured teacher to a nearby hospital, where the doctors treated and discharged her.

In her plaint, the victim alleged that the math teacher, before leaving the spot, threatened her and warned her to be prepared for the ramifications that would follow.

“The two teachers fought over an enmity and a probe has been initiated. The police have also asked the school management to cooperage in the matter,” said a police official.

A case of assault has been registered in Kanjhawal police station and probes are underway.
