The victim, in her complaint, told police that she had come to India in the last week of September for business reasons.
New Delhi: An NRI woman from New Zealand filed a complaint alleging she was raped by a man, who met her for a business deal, in southeast Delhi's Maharani Bagh, only to backtrack before the magistrate, the police said on Wednesday.
The incident was reported to the police on September 29. The victim, in her complaint, told police that she had come to India in the last week of September for business reasons.
The woman, along with her husband, met the accused for dinner on September 27, the police said.
However, she denied the allegations levelled by her before a magistrate, they said.
On September 29, the man had allegedly invited the woman for dinner at his house in Maharani Bagh and came to pick her up at the hotel where she was staying, they said.
She also alleged that he had offered her drinks and then forced himself on her. After she returned to her hotel, she narrated her ordeal to her husband and they approached the police.
The police said that they are probing the matter and no arrest has been made till now.
