New Delhi: Anna Hazare has rebuked Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal for “not fulfilling the promise” of putting his party’s donors’ list in the public domain, at a time when the AAP was questioning the Congress and the BJP over their source of funding.

In a letter to Mr Kejriwal, dated December 23, the veteran activist said if change had to be brought into the system, the leadership should “walk the talk”.

“For the betterment of country and the society, I kept aside several important works related to people in Maharashtra and gave you my time without any selfish interest and dreamt big for the country. But my dream has been shattered,” said Mr Hazare, who had launched the anti-graft crusade.

He also referred to a letter written to him by Munish Raizada, a US-based medico and suspended AAP member, pointing out that the donors’ records had been taken off the party website since June 2016. Mr Raizada launched ‘no chanda (no donation) satyagraha’ at Raj Ghat on Saturday. Mr Hazare said by hiding donations made to the party, the AAP was lending credence to the speculations that it might be getting black money.

“You made several promises, which includes putting the donations received by the AAP on the party website… The talks of social change, which we espoused, are fading and politics and money are becoming important. The sense of humility is also fading,” Mr Hazare said.”
