Alipur robbery case solved, four arrested
Taking up the case, the police formed teams to search for the accused in Sonepat, Baghpat and Shamli areas.
New Delhi: The Rohini police arrested four members of the notorious Gogi gang for their involvement in the Alipur robbery case.
The police said the arrested have been identified as Deepak, Sanjay, Narendra and Deepak and recovered Rs 6.5 lakh, three modern automatic pistols, 13 live cartridges and two motorcycles used in the crime.
The police said that the robbery had taken place on December 17, when complainant, Ankit Verma, a jeweller, was returning his home in Alipur from his shop at around 9.00pm.
As he was on his way, the gang members intercepted him. They threatened him by brandishing a pistol, while another fired in the air. They took out the bags hidden in the scooty’s dickey, containing Rs 9.9 lakh, other documents and keys of the shop. After robbing the jeweller, the robbers ran away from the spot.
Taking up the case, the police formed teams to search for the accused in Sonepat, Baghpat and Shamli areas. On December 20, on a tip off, the police team reached near Budh Pur drains and apprehended the gang members and recovered Rs 3.7 lakh from their possession.
