New Delhi: Sleuths of Delhi police are looking for a placement agency owner who allegedly repeatedly raped a 12-year-old minor at his office on the pretext of giving job. The incident came to light when the minor managed to run away from his clutches and lodged a police complaint against him.
The police said that the victim hails from Jharkhand and had come to the city a few months ago along with her friend to escape from the torture allegedly being meted out to her at the hands of her step-mother. But little did she know that she was moving towards a darker world.
In her complaint, the minor girl stated that her step-mother used to beat her. Unable to bear this anymore she ran away with one of her friends, identified as Manoj, in search for a better life. She came to the city and initially lived with him. He later left her at a placement agency in Shakarpur to get her a menial job.
The victim further charged that the owner of the placement agency, identified by her as Rakesh, promised to provide her a job as a domestic help. He asked her to initially learn work in his office. The accused then raped her thrice. However, when he attempted to rape her for the fourth time, the girl managed to give him a slip and escaped from there.
The victim immediately approached her friend along with whom she went to the Subhash Place police and narrated the chain of incidents.
The police has registered a case against placement agency owner Rakesh and are on the lookout for the accused who is not traceable.
It can be recalled that on March 27, the Delhi police had rescued six women, including a pregnant woman, from the office of a placement agency in Outer Delhi, where they were allegedly confined in a room. The police had said that one of the girls was allegedly raped by the agency owner.
