Man ends life after killing his wife, daughter
The family members of the deceased stated that the couple and their daughter had consumed poison on their own.
New Delhi: Dejected over a property row with his father, a 35-year-old man killed his wife and their six-year-old daughter by giving them poison. He later ended his life by consuming the same.
According to police, the incident took place in South Delhi’s Govindpuri area on Saturday. The deceased man, identified as Vicky, was living with his wife Lalita (30) and two children including a six-year-old daughter and a three-year-old son. The later survived the homicide as he was at a neighbour’s house.
Deputy commissioner of police (Southeast) Chinmoy Biswal said that a PCR call regarding a quarrel was received at the Govindpuri police station at about 10.12 am on Saturday.
On reaching the spot it was found that Vicky and his wife had already been taken to ESI hospital by the PCR staff, where they were declared brought dead. Ranchi (6), the daughter of the deceased couple, was taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre by another family member. She died during treatment.
An investigation was taken up by the police in the matter. The family members of the deceased stated that the couple and their daughter had consumed poison on their own.
Upon inquiry, it was found that deceased Vicky lived on the first floor of the house, which was owned by his father. Vicky wanted his father to give the first and second floor of the house to him. His father refused to give him the same.
Being unhappy with this decision, and owing to the constant quarrels and bickering, Vicky committed suicide by consuming poison and administering the same to his wife and daughter.
His father stated that Vicky had threatened him of committing suicide and giving poison to his family as well a year ago. At this, the deceased’s father had registered a written complaint with the senior citizen cell at PHQ in January last year. The matter had been sorted out then through counselling.
The post mortem examination of the dead bodies was conducted on Sunday and viscera preserved. A crime team examined the spot and samples of food, suspected to contain poison, were collected from the scene. The same was sent to the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) for further examination.
